Limits of this JSON access

This tool loads the public Reddit comments URL as JSON in your browser. It adds .json?raw_json=1 and does not use OAuth, a registered API client, or a backend server.

  • Only public content that your browser can reach is available. Deleted, private, quarantined, age-gated, or otherwise restricted content may be missing.
  • Large threads can be incomplete. Reddit may return kind: "more" placeholders; this tool reports and skips them instead of calling the OAuth /api/morechildren endpoint.
  • Direct browser access is not guaranteed. Reddit may throttle, block, or change unidentified JSON access, especially for scraping or high-volume collection.
  • For systematic data collection, use approved Reddit API or data access and account for Reddit's deletion and retention requirements.

See Reddit's API docs, Data API notes, and Public Content Policy.
